SHELFORD

Transforming a paddock into a small lake
THE BRIEF

We were asked to turn an open paddock land into a large pond with water feature and landscaping. The native planting the clients were looking for would create a focal area for the garden. The clients also needed a building to enjoy the garden at any time of the year.

WHAT WE DID

We introduced organic shapes into the garden to allow soft circulation to the attractive paved area where a meal can be shared with friends. The bespoke oak building with thatched roof stands as a feature under which clients might sit to read a book in the late afternoon light.

Water is definitely the main theme in this garden. Its journey through the garden is visible thanks to a bespoke paved watercourse between the feature fountain and the natural pond.
